The past few weeks have been busy as the Yoruba arm of the Nigeria Movie Industry, Nollywood recently released three movies.
Odunlade Adekola opened with the release of his Cinema movie “Orisa”, followed by Femi Adebayo’s Netflix blockbuster, “JagunJagun”, while Ibrahim Yekini released “Kesari” on the 25th of August.
These three movies have sparked reactions from movie lovers and critiques who have something to say about the movies.
Odunlade’s movie has made over a hundred million in cinemas even though critiques have not really rated it highly, JagunJagun on the other hand, a Netflix has not stopped trending since its release, not surprisingly, the movie just like “Agesinkole” from the same producer has made even non Yoruba speakers disciple of Yoruba movies.
On the other hand, “Kesari” which is still showing in Cinemas has been tagged the usual Yoruba Mollywood movie…
These movies despite what cliques say have placed the industry on the map of “films to see” and we are glad.
If you have not seen these movies, do so… if you have, which of these movies have your vote.
